Photoshop Homework #10 - Surrealism

The inspiration for my surrealistic piece (left) came in part from RenĂ© Margritte's "L'embeillie" (below http://www.superstock.com/stock-photos-images/866-5273) and in part from the concept from the "Stargate" movie.  I wanted to give the impression of a door between worlds.

The doors were completely created using the pen tool.  I added a stone-like texture and used gradients to add to the three-dimensionality of the object.  I also used an outer glow to give an other-worldly feel.  The text bubble was also made using the pen tool.





The photos used for the background were taken by me while the dolphin photos were from the web.
